Deciding to quit drinking alcohol is a big issue and not an easy task even it has been ruining the lives and health of people. If you are a heavy drinker and decided one day to quit for whatever reason, always bear in mind that removing alcohol in your system is not a simple one two three steps for it will cause a severe withdrawal syndrome.
A medical guidance is necessary when someone undergoes an alcohol detox treatment for there are so many factors that must be considered in the treatment process.
The road to recovery is hard and impossible comparing to the cost of the treatment itself if without the support of family and friends and the most important factor is the commitment of the person him/herself. The recovery period depends on how well your body responds from the treatment and how far you can hold on with the unpleasant side effects of alcohol withdrawal. However, these symptoms (even how bad they are) can be abated through proper treatment.
It is for this reason that a support system is a must and a necessity so you’ll be encouraged to go on, be committed and be determined to give up alcohol.

My dad, who smokes since his high school days, decided to quit smoking all on his own. He told us that whenever he craves for a cig, he walks long distances and drinks water when he gets tired. Then the craving stops. I admire him for his discipline.
Alcohol drinking is one of the things I learned when I stepped into college. I only drink during occassions but I do admit that sometimes I drink if I have problems. It’s true that it’s hard to withdraw from alcohol drinking, but I just think of the headache that it would cause me and boom, I won’t drink anymore. LOL!
Discipline is the key as what J mentioned. Blog hopping and visiting here.
