Apple™’s iPad: Being Able to Download Software Could Be Next

Apple has always been known as the forefront runner for delivering outstanding, innovative devices that “wow” their customers. Their latest innovation, the iPad, is nothing short of genius. After the iPhone craze hit, it seemed logical that Apple would apply the same capabilities and navigation of the iPhone to a convenient, lightweight notebook.

The iPad’s interface is practically identical to the iPod touch or iPhone. Navigation is indistinguishable from the iPhone. There are numerous pages made up of icons and grids, a favorite apps dock, and a status bar that displays the time as well as other information.

This computer is unlike any other on the market today. Anyone can pick it up and go; it weighs a mere 1.5 pounds. No keyboard and no mouse to worry about; everything is internal or on the touchscreen. The bright multi-touch display screen is 9.7 inches and can be displayed landscape or portrait. The finger-based navigation makes scrolling smooth as butter, and the colors are remarkably vibrant and deep.

For those who don’t want to type using the touchscreen, Apple sells a keyboard dock attached to a thin keyboard. Also, the iPad supports Bluetooth keyboards so that you can type without having to connect the device to a keyboard. If you connect to a keyboard via Bluetooth, keep in mind that you will need to prop the iPad up with something so you can see what you’re typing.

While the iPad allows you to easily search, get work done, and consume massive amounts of content, it is unlike a PC because it does not contain folders, files, or windows. Consumers have stressed that the iPad should allow people to download software and contain windows. How and when these improvements will be made is up to Apple.
