27 and 3

catching up to me

Yz and I just turned 3 and 27 yesterday. We didn’t have a lavish party, nor did we get expensive gifts. We just spent the weekend with friends and ate all the food we wanted to eat. Everyone pitched in, I bought the booze, while my friends and Yz’s godparents bought their share of food.

I feel physically younger, I am in the best shape of my life. Though I feel I am much wiser and patient. I had numerous challenges in the past year and I have rose up above myself in almost all occasions. In the center of all my fortitude amidst adversity is my daughter. She is my legacy and my mark on this world. I am no teacher but I’d like to think that I am teaching her by example the principles I have picked up over the years which have shaped me to the person that I am today. May she understand most of it and form her own identity through it.

My only wish for my birthday is that my daughter gets to learn from my mistakes in life and takes advantage of all the experience and knowledge that I can pass onto her. So that she will be well equipped to take on life, and live it to the fullest.

I look forward to another year of experiences, meetings, and opportunities …until next year!
