Espiritu Santi

Went to the opening of the Espiritu Santi Exhibit in the Yuchengco museum earlier as Perry’s proxy. I saw a lot of familiar faces but I couldn’t remember most of their names… I did recognize (Lia, John Frank, Jordan,Leonard, Kawayan). I really haven’t been in touch with most of my acquaintances from the Baguio Arts Guild since Perry went state-side. I do know Santi Bose personally; I used to sleep over at his place when I was younger, so I thought it would be a good idea to pay my respects to him as well.

Seeing Perry’s and other artists works brought back some fond memories I had growing up with the Baguio Arts Guild. Their styles didn’t change much. I was able to recognize each contributing artist’s works without looking at who made them… well for those who I knew at least. I can still remember Perry harping about how I should get into the art scene way back… I did try, but it wasn’t a feasible way to earn money and pay the bills, so I drifted away. I would like to think that I am still in the art scene with the work I am doing now, just in a different more modern medium.

I wasn’t able to stay for long, since i have a lot of work to finish and I left my daughter behind. Though it was a pleasant experience… like a reprieve form my daily grind. Fedhz wanted to stay longer, but I insisted to go I didn’t want to ruin the nostalgic feeling by worrying about my work while I was at the exhibit.
