my Samsung Corby Pro (B5310)

Samsung Corby Pro (B5310)

I recently purchased a  Samsung Corby Pro (B5310) for 12,500PHP (278USD)  at Samsung Mobile in Megamall. All I can say is: it’s one of the best phones I’ve ever owned! It isn’t a hi-end phone like the iPhone, or the Omnia 2 but it does deliver on the commonly used features people look for in a mobile device at an affordable price point… Something other mobile manufacturers have miserably failed at.

Here are some of the features which persuaded me to forgo with the purchase:

  • 320×240 TFT resistive touch screen with 16M colors
  • qwerty keyboard
  • connectivity:
    • Wifi b/g
    • 3G
    • Bluetooth
    • GPS
  • built in email and IM client
  • 3.5mm headphone jack
  • clear fonts (for people with poor eyesight)
  • …and did I mention the price tag?

Those were mainly the things I really appreciated with the phone. Once I configured it to send/receive emails from my gmail account I was just hooked! It does lack variety in terms of applications and games, but the bare essentials are there. You can do your facebook, watch youtube videos, check your email, do some instant messaging and what not. What it lacks in variety it makes up for with it’s price and the well polished user interface bundled with the phone. Personally I don’t think you can ask anything better for 12,000PHP.

I’m too facing the restart problem. Since i bought the cell only for 3g service and video calling switching to 2g network not a solution for me but I just tried it and Yes the set did not restarted so far. But I need 3g for making video call switching back and forth is not a solution for me any idea whether its can be solved or any one using 3g/video calling over this phone? I already visited service center they simply re-installed the os but no solution so far….. if any one has working over it kindly revert me as well…
Thanks
Rahul

I have a new Corby Pro. I have opened several memo pads from the side bar but I can’t figure out how to delete them. I tried to drag them off the screen but they just sit on the edge. The manual is no help. It shows how to open but not close or delete. The same applies for any app that opens off the sidebar such as the calendar and media player.
Totally frustrated.
Any clues how to get rid of them?

openup the widget toolbar. then tap on the memo and slide it back into the widget toolbar. after that you can close the widget toolbar again and gone is the memo. Everything you typed on it is still there. just open up the widget toolbar again, tap on the memo and you’ll see.

I just bought the corby pro last week. So far very happy with it…but the manual sucks! Does anybody know how to make a mp3 into a ringtone? I have never tried before, and can’t figure it out.I am using the samsung kies as an interface with the corby. The help manual sucks too. Thanks for any help!
