practical & affordable gifts for babies

I was asked to be a god parent to my aunt’s son recently, and I have yet to give him a gift for his christening. It’s hard to find a gift when all the necessities were either bought or given already. I want to give a gift that will actually benefit my god son and won’t just be a recycled gift; so I decided to google me some ideas.

Which in turn led me to a nifty device called a sound machine or a white noise machine to be more precise. It’s basically a machine that produces random sounds like a waterfall or wind blowing through trees. Despite it’s name, it doesn’t actually produce white noise which is harsh to the ears, but more like pink noise.

They were relatively affordable and I think it will improve the quality of sleep my god son as well as my aunt… Especially at midnight when my god son wakes up due to colic. Maybe the soothing sounds will calm him back to sleep. I am also considering getting one for myself to block out the ambient traffic noise here in my condo unit, which I hear 24/7.
