Finally found a Q9550

Intel Q9550 LGA775

Intel Q9550 LGA775

After calling almost every computer shop in Metro Manila I finally found a store that still has the Intel Q9550 processor. I was in Megamall earlier today looking to buy some kitchen ware for my new diggs when I happen to pass by Octagon computer store. I was initially looking for a router but when I glanced at their processors on display I saw the Q9550 and immediately bought it.

Despite the LGA775 socket being phased out, it is still a solid platform and very cost effective for the price/performance ratio of the processor and other components, particularly the Motherboards and DDR2 memory. The difference between the Core i5 and the Q9550 is negligible and doesn’t justify the upgrade (motherboard and DDR3).
