I just got the first component of my new b0x which I am assembling. It’s a Corsair H50 cooler, which is basically a closed loop water cooling kit. It won’t compare to the those custom 4 stage water cooling kits (reservoir > pump > water block > radiator) but it’s much cheaper and performs like if not better high end air cooling solutions there.

I opted to get this because:

  • It uses a 120mm fan (moves more air with lesser noise)
  • It doesn’t use a big chunk of metal (copper/aluminum) which weigh a lot.
  • Takes up less space compared to other air cooling products with similar performance.

I am optimistic that this will perform better during the Manila summers compared to the previous products I’ve tried. I also plan to use a cooler running processor to help keep the heat down as well.
