I just registered the yzmamaril.com domain earlier this morning for my daughter. I am planning to create a photoblog for her though I am still uncertain on which platform to use. Though I plan on creating the base design first before deciding on which platform to use, so I can try out my new method of creating websites.
I normally design it through code, the traditional way is to create a template in Photoshop or Corel then slice and export it to xHTML (which is really messy and a crude way of designing websites). My new approach is to mock up the design in Photoshop, once I’m happy with the look and feel of it I then apply the design through code and create all the element separately. This allows me to address compatibility issues with browsers, screen resolutions, etc; it also allows me to visualize the effects (javascript and/or flash) I want to use in my designs.
