Johnny Air Cargo Online shopping/shipping service

I recently tried out the courier services of Johnny Air Cargo, particularly their proxy US to Philippines shipping. The Philippines is blacklisted in most online shops, that is why they do not ship directly to the Philippines. With Johnny Air Cargo you can have your items ship to their U.S. branches then they will ship it to the Philippines (collect) for you.

The process was surprisingly simple and straight forward:

  • You’ll be required to fill out a JAC client profile form which their marketing department can Fax or email to you. (Tel. # 813 7227 / 812 4702 / 817 2989)
  • After accomplishing the form you’ll need to send it back with a copy of 2 valid ID’s. You can either scan the documents then email them or fax it back.
  • Once they confirmed your credentials they will call you back to confirm and send you their rates Proposal. Here’s the Rates Proposal they sent me.
  • Now you are ready to go shopping! After your purchase you’ll need to forward the email invoice of your purchase to them for confirmation.
  • After all of these, just wait until your package arrives. You have the option to either pick it up in one of their branches or have it delivered to your door step.

When specifying the shipping address to their US branch just use the address they specify and put your name their as written in the JAC client profile form you filled up earlier.

Their fees were reasonable and their service was very good. You can call their branches or their main office for updates and their employees are courteous and accommodating. Overall I really enjoyed my first online purchase and shipping it here using their service; it was easy and very convenient. I was able to do all of it without leaving the house which is still not the norm here in the country. I’ll definitely be patronizing their services from here on out.

Hay naku! Very bad ang service ng Johnny Air! Imagine nearly 3 months na box ko from New York to Pinas e wala pa rin?! Don’t rely on what they say.

Do they actually buy the item there and then you pay it here? Or you buy the item online, pay it online and then get it in one of their branches?

You buy the item, ship it to their New York office, then you can either pic kit up at their branches here in manila or have it sent to your door step… for an additional fee ofcourse.

Hi! I’ve tried a much better service! Check out http://www.pobox.ph. I’ve had two boxes shipped from the US and delivered to my house in QC already. They don’t charge for consolidation and they can hold your items in their LA warehouse for as long as you want, no extra fee! They have different sizes of boxes and they can ship big items even plasma TV’s. My friend had a 52″-inch Toshiba TV shipped through POBOX and she’s so happy! You should check them out!

@Denise Patdu Same here… I’m currently waiting for my items to arrive to their warehouse. Hopefully my last item which is an Ipod Touch 64GB will arrive this week or early next week. This is my first transaction with pobox.ph. I was able to buy stuff from newegg.com, amazon.com and most especially from myvu.com. I was really happy when I knew about pobox.ph because finally I could order the Myvu New Crystal EV Video Glasses. How much did they charged for the 52″ Toshiba TV? I assume it is an LCD TV because the prices of LCD TVs are really cheap in the US.

PErsonally I’d prefer using Johnny Air Cargo since they’ve been in the business for quite some time now and I as well as other people I know have already tried their services.

Just follow the instructions in my post and you should be fine.

POBOX is the company the buys items for those who don’t have credit cards or their credit cards are not accepted because there are some online stores that only accept US cards. POBOX is powered by FOREX. Forex has been in the business since 1983 and they are shipping BALIKBAYAN Boxes since then. Their shipping fee is a lot cheaper and they are based on the the box size not the weight.

For those who purchased or already have items, you could send it to their warehouse and then they will pack all your items in a box and that’s it. Pay the box and have your items shipped. It will take 3-4weeks to arrive in the Philippines.

I’ll update you how much they will charge to me. I have 6 items.

Hi guys! Saw this post when searching for a forwarder for electronic items from the US. For those who have shipped, LCD TVs, how much was the landed fee (i.e. for a 50inch TV).

How much rates nila sa online shopping assistance? Depende rin ba sa price ng bibilhin mo?

Reply

20 mike December 11, 2009 at 1:28 am

Yung rates nila depende sa bigat or laki ng package mo. tapos may mga buwis ka pang babayaran.

I just had something sent to Johnny Air a few days ago, and they told me it arrived. Afterwards, they asked me to give my credit card information VIA EMAIL. Has anyone done this with Johnny Air and is it safe?

Reply

22 mike December 16, 2009 at 4:21 pm

No! that ain’t safe, also when I had stuff ordered they never asked for that kind of information from me.

Hi Mike:
Were you charged taxes when you used Johnny Air Cargo for your amazon.com purchase(s)?

Hi Sam,

Yes I was, and the tax is more expensive if you’re purchasing electronics :(

hi sir. lahat ng items po ba taxable? kahit po 2nd hand books? contemplating an ebay.com purchase.

As far as I know used items aren’t taxable but I haven’t tried shipping used items before. You may want to call Johnny Air Cargo to confirm.

Doesn’t the billing address of your credit card and the shipping address have to be the same? I’m assuming the credit card you used for your Amazon purchase has a Philippine billing address and the shipping address (of Johnny Air) is a NY address.

If you use your creditcard I think you can specify a different shipping address. In my case I use Gift Checks and paypal money, never used a creditcard to make any online purchases.

We shipped a package weighing 68 pounds from Cebu City SM Mall Johnny air cargo. We didn’t have a box so they said they would provide one and pack it for us on the following day. When it arrived here the box was torn and taped up so much that the tape was the only thing holding the stuff inside. It took a little over 2 months to get here. We weighed it when it arrived and it only weighed 48 pounds. Twenty pounds of my wife’s new clothing was missing. I will make some complaints to the corporate office soon but, I don’t expect much in the way of customer service now that I have seen their cheep website and lack of professionalism up to date. Either the box fell apart and some things were lost or the employees helped themselves to the clothing. We will not use this company again.

Hi, I want to try Johnny Air Plus.. Then there’s Johnny Air Padala.. Are they different? what do you use sir?.. I chose JAC PLUS..

also, btw, when I order from Amazon, ofcourse I entered the address of JAC for the SHIPPING address(as they instructed).. then Amazon asks ‘is this address also your billing address (the address that appears on your credit card or bank statement)?’.. I chose ‘NO’ and I entered JAC PLUS address. How relevant is this BILLING address? *I used my master card for paying*
