I just upgraded to the new WordPress 2.8 – Baker, among the plethora of changes in this new version; 2 of them caught my interest. First up is the new editor, now it supports syntax highlighting with line numbers and a drop down function list!

The second thing to note is the performance optimizations they made to the interface and JavaScript libraries. All in all I think its the best release of WordPress to date, so much so that I’m in the mood to listen to smooth Jazz tunes by Chet Baker.
I’m also in the process of starting my 2nd WordPress theme for my journal. I hope to have it out by next week since I’ll be having some free time this weekend (no work on Friday since it’s Independence Day). I’ll be posting the theme for download free of charge, unlike the first one I made.
