I just finished setting up a store interface for the theme I made yesterday. I just used a third party plugin for WordPress which can accept payments through paypal and handle the delivery of the product automatically in real time.
The plugin uses IPN (Instant Payment Notification) to detect whether a payment has been made; once confirmed it generates a random URL from which the customer can download the purchased file.
I personally like the concept of the plugin, it’s simple and straight-forward. Though the interface and documentation can still be vastly improved. This captured my interest to learn how to use IPN and maybe build my own version of the plugin, or perhaps a mini-eStore module.
