Advertising online is one of the most viable and cost effective ways of getting the word out for your products and services. SME’s (Small/Medium Entrepreneurs) benefit most from this medium of advertising, since they only shell out a fraction of the cost for advertising and are able to broadcast pertinent information about their business which is readily accessible 24/7.

A good example would be Orlando Landscaping, a small to medium landscaping company based in Orlando, Florida. They present their services and contact information in a simple and concise manner; which would appeal to their target demographic. Despite the simplicity of Orlando Landscaping’s website I think it was well thought out, and should be emulated by other up and comers.

Several points to note are:

  • contact information (i.e. telephone number) is visible and can be noticed right away
  • promos are emphasized with details and is visible at a glance.
  • services offered are clearly laid out.
  • an optional simple contact form is available.

These are just some simple elements in an ecommerces site that most developers fail to take into consideration and mainly rely on eye-candy which ultimately take attention away form the gist of the product or service being offered. As an online shopper myself I believe that eye-candy can only take you so far, the bottom line will always be product information and its accessibility.

Kudos to the developer(s) of the Orlando Landscaping website for publishing a simple yet effective website.
